Mission and Vision
The mission of the Greater Blytheville Area
Chamber of Commerce
is to improve the business environment and enrich
quality of life in the area.
We envision the Chamber as the voice for business in the Blytheville area and as a catalyst for positive change.
2020 CHAMBER PRIORITIES
The Chamber of Commerce will publish a plan each January and review its progress each December. In keeping with best business practices, the Chamber is committed to the long-term planning required to make any vision a reality.
The Chamber of Commerce will build a more positive image of Blytheville both inside the community and regionally. The Chamber will bolster positive perceptions of the community and cultivate community pride. Since promoting the attributes of the Blytheville/Gosnell area is critical to business and residential growth, Chamber programs will target quality of life issues, good business service, tourist opportunities, and the dissemination of optimistic information about the area.
The Chamber of Commerce will improve the visual appeal of the community. Resident and business decisions to relocate are significantly affected by community appearance, as is the self-confidence and pride of the current population. The Chamber will pursue programs that advance community-wide beautification and will give recognition to those businesses and industries that make special effort to enhance and upgrade their properties.
The Chamber of Commerce will seek to better meet the quality-of-life needs of the community, particularly in the area of family entertainment. In an effort to broaden appeal of the city as a place to live and visit, the Chamber will identify unmet quality-of-life needs, especially those related to recreation and family entertainment, and pursue expansion of resident businesses/programs and development of new businesses/programs to enhance those services.
The Chamber of Commerce actively will strengthen and maintain steady influence in governmental affairs through fostered relationships at the local, county and state levels. Through its sustained interest in and attention to issues facing legislators, the Chamber will be a persuasive voice in governmental matters directly affecting its mission
The Chamber of Commerce will strengthen partnerships with industry leaders, building alliances that best serve both their needs and those of the community. Since the impact of community issues affects all employers, the Chamber will work with the industrial segment to develop investment options that meet their goals while also advancing the city.
The Chamber of Commerce will bridge the cultural divides among businesses, encouraging inclusiveness of minority business interests and the customer bases they serve. With its belief that diversity is a strength in the business community, the Chamber will work to help minority businesses gain visibility and support.
The Chamber will further community understanding of the economic impact of tourism, subsequently gaining support for and interest in the variety of tourism venues in the area.
Given its position in a sales tax-driven economy, Blytheville stands to benefit tremendously from tourist venues reflective of the history of the Delta and the Cold War. Through its communications and events, the Chamber will build the credibility of tourism among businesses and residents alike.
